INAC participated in the China International Meat Industry Week that took place from September 20 to 24, where Victoria Cai, the head of the office in Asia, made a presentation on the meat industry in Uruguay in front of 1,000 people.
Among those present was the deputy director general of the GACC’s Food Safety Bureau, responsible for the approval of products and plants. In the presentation, Cai referred to two products in which Uruguay is working to gain access: poultry meat and tripe. Being the largest importer, Chongqing is the city with the highest consumption of animal by-products in China.
Moreover, INAC had a booth at the CIMIE Expo held in Chongqing between September 20 and 22.
Finally, it is worth mentioning the activity that took place on September 19 at the MGM Hotel in Shanghai, where the fourth edition of the “Golden Spoon Award 2023” was held in the presence of some 270 people, including representatives of foreign consulates in Shanghai, general managers and executive chefs of restaurants and top-rated hotels such as Marriott, MGM, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Hilton, Shangri-La, Kempinski Hotels, to mention but a few. Overall, participants included representatives of more than 18 groups and over 60 hotels. The deputy director general of the Shanghai Tourism and Culture Bureau also attended the event.
