Uruguay has strengthened its foothold in China with its participation in ANUGA Select China 2026

Following its participation in the latest edition of Expo Hainan, Uruguay Beef continued to strengthen its presence in China with its participation in ANUGA Select China 2026, one of the leading international food and beverage trade shows in the Asian market, with a focus on the Food Service channel. The trade show took place from April 27 to 29.

The event, which took place over three days in Shenzhen, celebrated its fifth edition and has featured INAC’s uninterrupted participation since its inception. Organized by Koelnmesse Beijing, the China Chamber of Commerce for Importers and Exporters of Food Products (CFNA), and the Shenzhen Retail Trade Association, the fair brought together more than 600 exhibitors from various countries and regions in an area of 35,000 m², with an expected attendance of over 40,000 professional visitors. The sustained participation of the National Meat Institute, together with the sector brand, Uruguay Beef, reaffirms the country’s strategic positioning in China and its commitment to continue consolidating the presence of Uruguayan beef in one of the world’s most competitive markets.

Uruguay Beef participated with a 54 m² stand, where it showcased the quality of Uruguayan beef through grab-and-go tastings offered in three daily sessions featuring specially selected beef cuts — tenderloin, ribeye roll, blade oyster, and tripe — allowing importers, distributors, and industry professionals to experience the product firsthand.

During the opening day, the stand and tasting area attracted a high volume of visitors amid an intensive agenda of activities and meetings.

As part of the standout activities at this year’s edition, Uruguay Beef also took part in the “Foodie Space,” one of the event’s leading gastronomic stages. There, two renowned local-market chefs prepared three Uruguayan beef cuts live — ribeye roll, tenderloin, and skirt steak — showcasing their versatility and advantages in both Chinese and Western cuisine preparations. The activity generated strong interest among attending distributors, several of whom later approached the stand to learn more about Uruguay’s beef offering.
